LPN Training Program

WHAT DO LPN’S DO?

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) play a vital role in the healthcare system, working in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, private residences, and physician offices. They provide essential care to people of all ages, including health assessments, administering treatments, and offering comfort and support. LPNs are often the first point of contact for patients, building strong, trusting relationships that are crucial for effective care. As respected members of the healthcare team, LPNs collaborate closely with Registered Nurses (RNs) and doctors to deliver high-quality patient care.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This is an apprenticeship program for employer sponsored nursing assistants, medical assistants, and other patient care professionals. This program offers an innovative delivery model in nursing theory, laboratory, simulation, and clinical. Students must be hired as an LPN apprentice by an approved employer in collaboration with MichiganWorks! after acceptance into the program. Students may be eligible for various sources of funding through the local MIWorks! agency and through the community college.

CLINICAL

Clinical learning experiences will take place through the student’s employer, providing hands-on training in a real world healthcare setting. Didactic learning experiences will be delivered through supportive college coursework in an online environment. Both components are essential for developing a competent Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

POST-GRADUATE OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of the LPN training program, students are eligible to register for the State of Michigan NCLEX-PN licensing exam.

Students may also choose to further their education by becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) or pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
